In the past several years, the numbers of academic jobs in women's studies and gender studies has grown significantly. Our graduates are uniquely positioned to take up these jobs, as well as to move into academic posts in more traditional disciplines where gender is emphasized as an area of specialization. To date, our department has achieved a 100% placement rate for students graduating with our Ph.D. degree.
Training in gender studies also offers an advantageous background for careers in international agencies, civil service, public policy, education, publishing, mass media, human resources, marketing, and many other areas in the private sector.
