About Virginia Kartu Gomez

Virginia Gomez is Latinx and from the San Fernando Valley, California. They are first-generation and earned their B.A. in Political Science at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).  At CSUN, Gomez was an HSI Pathways/Mellon Student Fellow and a CSU Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholar.  Their research Women of Cannabis: Phenomenon of Women in California's Budding Industry used an interdisciplinary phenomenological approach engaging the San Francisco Public Library Brownie Mary archive and six in-depth qualitative interviews with women working in the cannabis industry in 2019.
